As COO of The Weather Company, Mike Jones oversees the overall operation of the business, driving the organization’s performance, growth, and investment efforts. His team leads the ongoing development and implementation of operational systems and processes necessary to drive the strategic direction of the business and measure performance. In this role, Mike also oversees procurement, advertising operations and yield as well as the team operating programmatic platforms. He’s currently also serving as interim chief financial officer, overseeing finance, accounting, tax, and treasury functions.

Mike has deep knowledge of the business, having served in various leadership positions with The Weather Company over a span of 10 years including Chief Financial Officer and Chief of Staff. He also has experience leading complex, multi-partner open ecosystems, serving as chief revenue officer and global head of operations for IBM’s Red Hat Marketplace. While there, he helped lead the launch of Red Hat Marketplace, an open cloud marketplace that makes it easier to discover and access certified software for container-based environments in public clouds and on-premises. Previously, he held roles as global head of operations and chief revenue officer, leading organizations in sales, customer success, support and operations.

Born in Canada, Mike is an avid hockey player. He received his honours bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University.
