Matthew Drooker is the Chief Technology Officer of The Weather Company, the world’s most accurate forecaster. In this role, Matthew leads the company’s technology strategy and infrastructure, enabling the delivery of innovative weather solutions across The Weather Channel app, weather.com, and enterprise businesses spanning media, advertising, aviation, defense, and other industries.

Prior to joining The Weather Company, Matthew was the CTO at SoundCloud where he led the company’s technology strategy, product development, and infrastructure. His leadership was instrumental in architecting a remarkable turnaround that resulted in doubling the subscription business, achieving double-digit growth in the advertising business, and restarting monthly active user expansion after years of steady decline.

Matthew previously held various senior technology leadership roles at Warner Media / Turner Broadcasting System, including Senior Vice President of Platform Technology, Products & Operations and CTO of CNN. During his tenure, he drove the modernization and expansion of Warner Media’s digital media platforms, oversaw the development of cutting-edge content management systems, video streaming services, and data-driven personalization features. Under his leadership, CNN became the world’s #1 digital news service and established itself as the premier destination for premium advertising in its category.

Matthew is based in Atlanta, GA. In his free time, Matthew enjoys tinkering with home projects, coding, outdoor activities, riding his Peloton, and playing trivia.
