As CIO of The Weather Company, Dan Margulies oversees the people, strategy, and process within the IT team to ensure outcomes are supporting business goals, as well as identifies the technologies and platforms used to run the business.

Dan has over 15 years of experience in various technology roles, leading transformation efforts, and creating and managing scalable information infrastructures. He is a driven senior IT and cloud executive with expertise in IT strategy, staff development, cloud computing, cybersecurity management, and workplace tech ops.

Most recently, he served as the chief cloud officer at Merative and as operations and implementation CTO for IBM’s Watson Health. Prior to IBM, he served at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a principal solution architect, in charge of worldwide healthcare and life science technology bookings for two major Systems Integrator customers. He has also held IT leadership roles at CIOX Health, Deloitte Consulting, ConvergeHealth, Recombinant Data Corp, and PowerAdvocate.

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in information sciences from Northeastern University. A Cloud technology expert, he has earned various AWS certifications, including Solution Architect Professional, Associate, Advanced Networking, Security, and SysOps Administrator. Dan lives in Newton, Mass. with his wife, two kids, and two dogs. In between taking kids to and from sports and activities, he hopes to inspire in them a love of computers and technology. His hobbies include 3D printing, home restoration, RC Cars, and computers.
