Continue readingAs Chief Business Officer – GM Consumer of The Weather Company, Brennan Gerster is responsible for growing its consumer business, including digital properties for its flagship consumer brand The Weather Channel. He maximizes opportunities across the user lifecycle for both ad-supported and subscription users, overseeing product, content, design, business operations, product analytics, customer support, and programmatic advertising efforts. He has extensive experience in building and scaling consumer-focused businesses, combined with a deep understanding of the media and technology landscape and a proven track record of driving growth and fostering innovation.
Brennan has more than 20 years of experience across finance, strategy, and operations in media and consumer technology. Prior to joining The Weather Company, he served as general manager and chief revenue officer at SoundCloud, the world’s largest online community of artists, bands, DJs, and audio creators, where he was responsible for the commercial success of two product lines, overseeing growth marketing, product strategy and delivery, ad revenue, customer service, business operations and analytics.
Previously, he led growth initiatives at CNN as co-lead of emerging products and platforms, drove fundraising efforts as chief financial officer of Vengo Labs, and managed financial operations for iHeart Radio’s digital properties, including helping to launch their on-demand subscription business. He also held financial, analytical, and growth marketing roles in the consumer marketing group at Time Inc.
He earned his MBA from Baruch College and bachelor’s degree from Boston University. An avid exercise and outdoor enthusiast, he lives in Connecticut with his wife and three kids.
